Birthday Party Photography in Los Cristianos
A birthday celebration in Los Cristianos in the south of Tenerife. Candles, laughter and the small moments in between, photographed as they happened by Iryna Danylko.
Los Cristianos is a busy resort town, so a party here is photographed indoors or in a private space rather than on the beach. That suits the format: birthdays are about faces and reactions, not landscape, so the room matters less than the light in it.
I stay out of the way for most of it and work with whatever light the venue has. Candles, cake, the moment someone realises they are being watched: those are the frames worth having, and none of them can be posed.
